I traveled to Tanzania to shadow a midwife for a college internship. It was a 6 week period that I’ll never forget as that experience overseas is what sparked my passion for mother baby care. After that trip, I continued volunteering at a local midwifery office and had the privilege of attending several home births, where I got to see the important role of a doula in a birth setting. Following my graduation with a B.S. in Applied Health Science from Wheaton College in 2015, I worked as a personal trainer for a few years at health clubs in Seattle, WA and Wheaton.
Wanting to get back into the mother baby world, I was referred to Maternity Wise through a friend who had graduated from the doula program. After going through the program myself, I received my postpartum doula certification (PPD) and have had the privilege of coming alongside and serving multiple families in Chicagoland. And I truly love what I get to do!
In my free time, I enjoy eating donuts, working out (to burn off said 🍩), riding my electric scooter, playing with my dogs, Frannie & Pearl, and spending time with my husband, Robb.
